Aktion Club Service Initiative

SCAW logoWorking together to make the world a better place. This is what Aktion Club members are striving to do one project at a time. Aktion Club members have united together in an effort to support an International Service Initiative.

The focus of the Aktion Club Service Initiative is Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW). Sleeping Children Around the World is a nonprofit organization located in Toronto, Ontario.

The mission of Sleeping Children Around the World is to provide bed kits to children in need throughout the developing world. This is carried out through free-will donations and partnerships with volunteers around the globe. A bed kit donation of US $28 or CAN $30 provides a mat or mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net (if applicable), clothes outfit, towel, and school supplies.

In conjunction with the Service Initiative, the Kiwanis International Foundation has generously provided a grant of US $10,000. This grant will be used to match gifts from Aktion Clubs who contribute to Sleeping Children Around the World.

Kiwanis family members are asked to support this initiative by making monetary donations to Aktion Clubs for Sleeping Children Around the World.

Each Aktion Club will receive a maximum of US $200 in matching gifts for donations made to Sleeping Children Around the World. View this (Making a Donation) instruction sheet to learn more about how your Aktion Club can take advantage of this matching grant opportunity.
