  • Smokey Mountain Aktion Club Supports Pancake Day

Members of the Kiwanis family helped fight for kids and families on National Pancake Day, March 7. On that day, volunteers throughout the U.S. and Canada encouraged patrons at IHOP locations to support Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Of course, Aktion Clubs got into the act. In Sevierville, Tennessee, for example, the Smoky Mountain Aktion Club helped raise funds at their local IHOP by assisting as hosts.
CMN consists of 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids in the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local, funding critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. Thanks to the Smoky Mountain Aktion Club—and all the club members and volunteers who pitched in during this annual event!

  • Ways to pay for TLC!

Registration fees for the 2017 Training and Leadership Conference have been set. Check out our website for more information. And take a look at the event sponsorship toolkit for ways your Aktion Club can raise funds to attend!  After all, you don’t have to pay the fee yourself. Try the one-third concept: Fundraise one-third of the cost yourself; ask your Aktion Club to pay or fundraise another one-third, and talk to your sponsoring Kiwanis club or local businesses about supporting the rest.

In the toolkit, you’ll find event ideas, talking points for talking to potential sponsors, sample letters and more—to start your fundraising off on the right foot.

  • March for Babies

Some events are just natural for an Aktion Club. Consider March for Babies—one of the premier charitable events in communities throughout the country. It’s an annual “walk” to help raise funds for March of Dimes, which works to help prevent and address prematurity.

How will your Aktion Club participate during March for Babies season? Form a team and walk? Hold a fundraiser? Volunteer? Visit to find a walk near you—and give babies a fighting chance!

  • Got a few minutes? Give us some input!

We’re always looking for ways to improve and enhance the Aktion Club experience—for members and volunteers alike. And who better to tell us how than advisors and district administrators? If that’s you, take a few minutes to answer some questions on making the most of your role. Help us help you. Together, let’s create the best possible experience for club members and volunteers.
